In the fall of 2022, Winterstick approached me to produce a critical event to cement their place in history as the oldest brand in snowboarding as the first to claim the 50 year title. For me it offered the chance to merge my world’s of production, experience design, content creation and snowboarding into one super memorable event. Without a doubt, I felt obligated to take on the project in order to deliver an experience for the attendees that would offer a glimpse into the impact that nearly thirty years of snowboarding had on my own life.
The goal at the outset was to have a weekend demo tent, gather the Winterstick crew together to mingle with the cult like following and throw a ticketed gala style event that would pull everyone together. As soon as I dug into the project, I began to tease out the skill set available on the team while also building out a full on schedule that would inspire folks from around the country to attend.
Below find my approach to architecting this experience from the ground up.
