The Tops’l Farm 2022 Fall Flow Immersion was my first opportunity to take this experience back home - to the state I grew up in. As one of the premier venues in the state, Topsl Farm offers the perfect mix of an elegant yet rustic experience which was exactly the flavor I was looking for in this particular experience.
Rather than focus on an action sport, in this Flow Immersion, I went deep right out of the gates by setting the group into uncomfortable and uncharted waters to break down any ego’s coming into the group. In a forecast of torrential rains, I led the group through a death practice and then immediately partnered them with a stranger. From there, they were asked to read their own eulogies and then blindfold themselves for an unknown journey ending up at a location with a potential swim in October in MAINE.
On a rope chained together, they slowly moved as one through rain swept green fields with nothing but the flock of sheep observing. In the forest, they broke into groups of two and led each other down to the river where we circled around a bonfire, warding off the oncoming rain, sharing what they had learned from their “swim buddy”. After the council circle was complete, everyone suited up for the first cold water plunge, fully immersing themselves in what I call the Flow Immersion.
The rest of the weekend was spent enjoying the immaculate grounds and experience available at Tops’l Farm while learning from each other and the group of facilitators I curated. In between facilitated sessions, guests had a spacious calendar to spend their time as they wished - either in the mobile sauna which we had firing all weekend or with a beverage provided by our generous sponsors.
